About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and creative Content Writer to develop engaging, age-appropriate, and curriculum-aligned educational content for learners from Pre-Primary to Secondary levels. The ideal candidate should possess excellent English language skills, strong storytelling abilities, and a deep understanding of educational content development across different age groups.
Candidates with a background in English Literature will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development
- Create original educational content for textbooks, workbooks, activity books, worksheets, readers, assessment materials, teacher resources, and learning kits.
- Develop engaging stories, poems, comprehension passages, activities, projects, and exercises suitable for various grade levels.
- Write content that is age-appropriate, pedagogically sound, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Create creative and interactive learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and learner engagement.
Curriculum & Learning Alignment
- Understand curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and educational standards.
- Ensure content progression and complexity are appropriate for different grade levels.
- Adapt content to suit diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
- Align content with curriculum requirements and educational best practices.
Content Review & Quality Assurance
- Proofread and edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, readability, and accuracy.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, terminology, and language usage across products.
- Review content for originality, educational effectiveness, and factual correctness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with curriculum developers, designers, illustrators, project managers, and subject matter experts.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new educational products and content concepts.
- Support product development initiatives through creative content ideation and execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English Literature, English Language, Education, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Candidates with an English Literature background will be given preference.
- B.Ed. qualification will be an added advantage.
Skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong creative writing, storytelling, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for learners across age groups.
- Strong understanding of educational publishing and content development processes.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in educational publishing, curriculum development, EdTech, or children's educational content.
- Familiarity with NEP 2020, NCF, CBSE, ICSE, State Board, or other curriculum frameworks will be an advantage.
- Experience developing content for Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle School, and Secondary learners.
